new year resolutions

ooh just realised that i made less than 50 entries in 2008. okay, one of the 2009 resolutions shall be MORE BLOGGING!

i'm proud to say i have been quite good at keeping (or achieving) some of my resolutions, 2 being: getting a driver's license and completing the half marathon. of course, there are also those that i need to continue to work on...like changing some bad habits that i'm too ashamed to announce here. hehe

well, i foresee this new year being the year of changes and choices! must be more active in making a difference in my life, instead of waiting for things to happen... :D i want to travel more, play more, rest more...

many close friends are going to enter a new phase of their lives, and i'm going to be really busy helping them with their weddings. that said, i spent the first few days of 2009 ,and the rest of the week as well, busying with the first sunshine babes' hen's night and wedding ceremony. getting married is really a huge task!

anyways, have a happy new year! may seem to be a challenging year ahead for all, but i'm sure all of us keep a positive outlook and take a proactive approach in life, it can only get better!!!

friends & music

there are happier things in life like friends and music.

Quelf is a very FUN game! it's almost a dumb version of Cranium. instead of intelligent questions and tasks, players do stupid actions and play silly games like flying paper aeroplane. good to play especially after drinks.

say hi to yourself...i know you are reading this! ;)

Taste fine Japanese cuisine at Wacha, this quaint little shophouse along Ann Siang Rd. Walk up from URA/Maxwell market and turn left. Look out for the shops on the LHS, and you should see it before the turn. It is opposite Front Row. The food is delicate and the presentation is very interesting. Don't expect sushi. It's more like home-cooked food. Should try the Basket of Appetisers, Green Tea Fried Rice (Comes with delicious miso soup!), Japanese Pancake (it's very nice! you can see the lao ban niang making it on the pan and smell it getting grilled. strawberry and redbean can actually go well together under these pancakes! ) and Sesame ice cream (a surprisingly yummy flavour). I think my entry doesn't do it justice. Do check out chubbyhubby's review.

There are not too many customers and the courtyard seats are usually available. The courtyard is an area enclosed by translucent sheeting so we could actually still bask in the sunlight without feeling too warm as the place is kept air-conditioned. It is an ideal place to chill in the afternoon.

Warning: Food come in small portions. Good for tea time. You may like to hit the Maxwell market for a full dinner later in the evening.

I'm so lazy to search for music nowadays. Either I stream online playlists or play the internet radio. But luckily got zhi tong dao he friends with similar taste in music!

Pris gave me some good music today. Check out Feist. Mushaboom is my favourite! Inside and Out is cool too.

Wy also passed me another good song. Crazy by Gnarls Barkley. I think the group just won some grammys with this song.

life's pretty good to me, eh?

belated post of my merry christmas

this year, the sunshine babes decided to stay in the heartlands for christmas celebrations and we chose our dearest place of origin - ang mo kio ! although this year there's only 5 of us, i think we still had a lot of fun laughing at everything. i think the best was the christmas log cake dessert that looked like a .. hmm it's rather crude so i think i shall not elaborate here. but i'll post a pic of the cake. leave it up to you to decipher what it looks like.

after dinner we went to ktv! counted down ourselves silly inside the small room. though this year our number is small, i know i still can count on them to celebrate every occasion together.
btw.. i really love the party novelties the restaurant and ktv gave out! especially the hats! make good party door gifts :) too bad i don't have much photos now.
