RUN! JOG! WALK!

have i shared this wonderful tool that help u measure the distance you just ran on the road?
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/

this is especially good for recreational runners like me, who prefer to jog around the estate or wherever the pavement leads to, to keep track of mileage.

1st half marathon!

what can i say? i will need much more preparation the next time i run a long distance race like this.

1. need to have more sleep
2. need to drink more water
3. need to eat more carbo 2 days before
4. wear sleeved teeshirt
5. should do something about the knees

yeah, my knees are kind of busted now. actually it's been like that whenever i run recently. not sure if it's because i ran on the treadmills quite a bit while travelling. could be my posture when i run too. argh.

i managed to jog continuously at a consistent pace until 11km, when i started to walk/jog. during my run, i felt hunger, muscle and mental fatigue. for one part, i even felt ultra-sleepy. thankful for the deep-heat rub stations... managed to relieve the knees temporarily. on the whole, i thought it wasn't a stamina problem. it was a mental fight within oneself to keep one going. i succumbed and for the latter half of the run, i ran with knitted brows. i just felt so 痛苦 :(

along the way there were people of all sorts running, and especially inspiring are those whom i would have never thought of seeing... such as the fatter, older...sorry for stereotyping, but aiyoh i think i will add them to my list of motiations to come out of my comfort zone.

2 weeks for 21km

i have only less than 2 weeks to prepare for the coming half marathon.

sounds scary huh?

i successfully reached my target last year to complete 10km without stopping.

this year, my target is to keep run as much as possible before walking.

i ran about 4.5 km earlier today before stopping, and my knees blardy hurt! i hope i don't blast my knees after the 21km next sunday.

i also need a plan to keep myself free from the flu bugs and stomach virus that are spreading around the office. well, i just recovered from one case so i hope i won't fall ill in the next 2 weeks.

will keep this blog posted on my "training" progress. probably need to do some interval trainings to boost my stamina and should watch my diet too. more excuses to eat carbo. hehe

the dragonboat race

is over!

good thing about the spirit after competitions is tt it's always very very positive about improving ourselves, improving the skills and fitness and team spirit

this time round, i hope it's for real! with quite a few of my own batch's team mates willing to train together, it's going to be fun....

bad thing is, i can feel the fatigue kick in very fast, and go away very slowly... inevitable effect of growing old :(
