built a nest in front of my neighbour's home! those who have visited my home before might remember the canopy-in-the-making of giant green leaves (the plant is actually simpoh ayer, seen commonly at local nature reserves) that lined along the walls of the corridor leading to my neighbour's and my family's apartments. so one day, we found this string of dried leaves hanging from the plant on top at the ceiling. gradually, it built up to form an enclosure. in the morning, we could hear birds chirping and when we opened the door to check the noise out, we will see some birds flying away from the 'thing'. according to my neighbour, those are sunbirds picking leaves and twigs back to form their nest!
after 1 week or so, it's finally completed. how do i know? cos we have seen the bird sleeping in the nest at night! you can see its tiny little head and beak peeking out from the nest. it's really cute!!! i didn't want to risk waking it up by taking picture of it, but i do have a picture of the nest here.
