pain in the ass

back when i was still in italy, i received news that my father has bought us a sony VAIO pocket MP3 player under the request of my brother. It was because of improvements in his results but it was meant to be shared between us. He has specifically asked for this model because 'his classmates have it and he thinks it's a good model'.and there's also this feature: you can transfer photos directly from your digital camera and view your photos in colour on the screen.

well i thought it was a great idea to have a 20GB hardware drive as it would be very convenient to transfer data esp. our school proj files that easily add up to GBs. To me it's not too necessary to have a portable MP3 player. In the first place, if listening to music was important, i would have bought any thumb drive that can double up as a mp3 player. Anyway, i thought it would have been better if they had bought a ipod, or ipod mini. The price is comparable (VAIO costs 600 SGD) and the design is way cooler.

never mind, so i returned to singapore with great anticipation of this new electronic product. the design is very outdated. it's bulky and to transfer data you need to dock it into the AC charger. the interface is not too user-friendly and the g-pad control (something like the ipod control wheel, except it's rectangular instead of circular) is nothing special.

and it has been extremely difficult to share it with my brother. He thinks that he owns it. at the very first time,i wanted to use it to transfer photos from yx n winnie, and i had specifically told him i needed to use it, yet he still took it away from my room in the morning while i was asleep and brought it to school.

everyday he has to bring it to school. for what? 'to listen to music'. if he just needs something for listening why not just buy a normal mp3 player. you ask him if he knows what is a HDD he has no idea at all. the stupid teenager has blindly followed his friends without understanding the value of the product and i can't believe my father has not looked around more (or perhaps even asked me for opinions) before buying this product.

my father senses probs in us sharing the player and has even offered to buy a ipod for me. but what for? he has alrady spent alot on this and i don't want him to waste any more money. i just don't want my brother to grow up taking all these for granted.

i know i have to work something out with him but right now i cannot talk to my brother without him shouting at me. he is 15 yrs old and he thinks everybody is against him. i certainly hope i didn't used to be so rude to my parents like he is now. arghh.. i always tell myself i have to be forgiving because he is only 15 yrs old. but he is already 15 years old! he's got to grow up!
