complaining, like a typical singaporean

Today I am going to complain about the crappy bureaucratic system here. Its nothing like Singapore, so you gotta be very patient with them. You take about half a day to settle something, and you can only do it in certain hours because they are only opened for a few hours in a day. Just the other day, we had to register ourselves at the immigration office here. They are opened at 830am, but we had to be there at 6 am to start queuing up to get a good queue number. So we woke up at 4.30 but were lost on our way there. In the end we could only reach there at ard 645. I have no idea why there are so many ppl there! We expected to see sort of a line, but its just a mass of ppl there. Those who tried to fight for their way to the front were cursed at. We could just stand there in the cold. At 845 they finally opened the gate, and the policemen let us in by batches. When it was our batchs turn, everybody just ran in. We were totally lost. There were NO instructions anywhere to tell us what to do. Only signs in languages we dont understand. People were going in different directions and we could only follow our instincts and prayed it is correct. 7 hours later, we were finally out of the place. Our hands and faces and toes were almost frostbitten!

But still, this is a place with beautiful scenery and many beautiful people who are willing to help when they see us in distress. We may be visiting Venice for the masquerade carnival this weekend!
