oh italy!

finally found the lab in sch with internet connection!

juz had italian lessons. and the teacher teaches in italian! so we were sitting there trying to catch some key words here n there to understand him. and the class is mainly made up of mexicans and other south americans who spk spanish. so they haf no problems with it at all. and they haf like zero knowledge bout singapore... which is quite sad. singapore is often, sadly, mixed up to be part of china. and our food is thought to be similar to the jap's. think our tourism board has got to do some more work internationally.

but italians are nice ppl. there are ppl who helped us time and again. like this man on the tram who offered to help us when seeing us so lost. and the concierge at a hotel who directed us to this public tel booth.

the notorious italian traffic, though, is terrible and horrible. i witness a man being knocked down while jaywalking. it was like watching a dummy crash test. he flipped and landed on the floor. luckily he was still alive, and the driver stopped to help him. here, the cars travel at high speed along small avenues. and the lines are badly drawn so there's no definitive boundary for the pedestrians to cross the road. you gotta make sure the cars really stop before u cross, even if it's green. and the traffic lights tt signals pedestrian to cross is juz a green round light, similar to those of motorists'. how confusing!

this is a strange place to me in many sense... i gotta really get used to it lah. like the ground floor is always level zero. and the school architecture is really not straight forward. no wonder ghosts get lost in castles.
