i have some kind of block lately. writer's block, designer's block, creativity block, whatever you call it. feels like my mind is undergoing some kind of degeneration. it makes me feel kind of S-L-O-W. yes.. i am already very slow on normal days, so you can imagine how lethargic it's making me.
well the holidays here, fortunately and unfortunately. fortunate because it gives me more time. unfortunate because people expects more after the break. look at the submission deadlines right after the break. this mid-term break is wrongly titled. it should be the mid-term rush. i think i prefer the european system more. 3 terms, nicely spaced out.
anyway, been wanting to recommend this book i'm reading to everybody. yesh.. i still have time to read a fiction book. it's Down and Out in Paris and London by the great author George Orwell who also wrote Animal Farm and 1984. It was written in 1933, his first book in fact. Read it! It will definately make you feel happier. You realise that there are people in worse situations in you, and yet they still live on. haha.. it reminds me of our backpacking trip in paris and london earlier this march. we felt so poor in london and so unwelcomed in paris. brrr... but it was still nonetheless very fun!!!
one more recommendation here. it's a Spanish song Lamento Boliviano by argentinian band los Enanitos Verdes . it sounds like country folk but it's a really cool song. imagine santana in spanish. our mexican friend patrick performed it live with guitar during a gathering and all the spanish speaking ppl sang to it altogether! it feels like a song that all sad people drinking in a pub will sing to.
part of the lyrics..
They want to me to shake
they initiate me to shout
I am as a rock words does not touch to me
inside there is a volcano
that soon it is going to explode
I want to be calm...
