hello...greetings from torino!
it's really quite cold here. first day was -5degC and it snowed in the night time.
language is quite a major barrier here.most people expect us to understand italian and spoke to us in italian until they see a blur look on our face.
the 1st day was spent waiting, from 7am onwards, we waited to clear the custom, waited for our coach to go Turin from Milan, waited for the guard of our accomodation from his lunch break,
waited for the man in charge of our building to give us our keys...until 7pm at night when we finally went to the supermarket to buy some food, and waited in the long queue to pay.
on our 2nd day here and we went around town to familiarise ourselves with the surroundings.
think we came at the correct timing.. all shops were having sale (or saldi in italian). not all were cheap but we found some good buys. like $9.90 euros for a nike juventus jacket
we were just mainly shops-hopping cos it was very cold, and we went into shops because it is warmer inside. the gelato and pastry look fresh and good in the shops along the way.
where i stay now is Sponda Verde. i haf 2 chio Chilean hse mates and yx/winn have this pretty french hse mate who speak some english. they are busy studying for their exams but they've been
really nice to tell me more about where to go, what to do. they are preparing hard for their exams/presentations so i don't really want to disturb them. they are actually exchange students from the previous sem
they are going to leave after their exams end this wk. hopefully i will get to bond better with my housemates who will stay with me for the coming semester..
yep i think tmr we will be spending some time ard town again, before we finally get to start orientation in sch this friday. meanwhile, it's still holiday time!
god.. i am so stressed now as i type away in this comp lab in sch tt is closing soon... will update soon with photos and all.. ciao
