after a frenzy weekend

there was no time for blogging for the past weeks as i had been really busy with the canoe polo nationals and all the crazy deadlines. finally at least the competition is over and after one rushed deadline, i decided to sit down and look back at what happened.

"all the shooting drills you've done is for this goal"
this was how viv encouraged us when we were fighting for the golden goal against ngee ann poly. (same logic as soccer: draw at full time, so the team tt scores the first goal during extra time wins). it was a good game indeed and we FINALLY performed our best, at the right time. all the right passes, paddle blocks, and superb saves at the goalpost were what gave us our victory. a IVP gold medal!

they were our nemesis for this championships. lost the first match w them, drawed the second, won the third. the fourth game was the 3rd-4th placing play-off for the women's open category. it was a lousy game. we were unprepared as we only realised we were to play the next game 15 mins after we finished our lunch.

but truthfully, we were lucky to have come so far. we were so NOT the 2nd best team, after red tide, in the championships anymore. the polytechnics have surpassed us, with their passion, and speed that we lacked.
The guys could only settle for a IVP silver this time round. NOT that they were not good, but lady luck was really not with them. Tears were shed. Disappointment were written all over their faces though they tried to put on a brave front during the dinner. They are really very nice people, ever ready to cheer us on during our games and helping us with our equipment. We were spoilt to the limit. We got the gold. But they couldn't get the medal they truly deserve. What an irony.
So now that the season is over, it's time to think about the future. Meijie is hanging her paddle, i believe so is Lyn, Xueying and Jiahui unknown. Weiyi shld be playing on. Me? I will like to play on, but i won't be ard next semester so I doubt I can contribute much next championship. hopefully i'll still be ard for the SRRR. It's going to be a struggle between sch and polo as I pia every sunday for the monday deadline.
digression: can somebody teach me charms? really need to do something to my tutors during presentations. things aint going too well for me so far. OR just somebody to teach me BIG words I can use to bowl them over with.
