so how come i can't find the sea games canoeing finals results amongst the other results in the straits times interactive? even when the results of other sports which has no singaporeans taking part in them are shown? even when our girls had actually won a bronze medal??
grrr...i hate it when they dun respect the sports i love. so the swim team brought home the medals. in this interview the presenter asked some head of the sea games council what make the reps who deliver different from those who brought dissapointment? he uttered something like 'oh like for james wong he had a detailed training plan which helped him to peak in time for the games, and joseline is an amazing girl, wat can i say..." yup i agree absolutely tt these sportsmen and sportswomen who took home the medals are amazing people. they haf put in tremendous effort and made huge sacrifaces in their lives to achieve what we see there. however they also haf good associations to back them up. the athletes and swimmers haf personalised training programs and the swimmers are sent abroad (and the girls all tok w a slang now!). so why do they get such good opportunities? because they can win medals for the country? for the singapore canoeing federation, u haf to beg for support from them. competitions are cancelled time and again because of 'not enough funding', 'not enough support'. and now even the inter varsity events are done away with because the polys dun haf money to buy kayaks. this news was truly a great disappointment among us, especially those who haf been training hard for this event.
and of course i hope canoe polo can receive more attention at the same time.
but i'm really glad to see tv coverage on the canoeing sea games races. yupz..good to see familiar faces like lingmin and adrian on tv. happy to see they din neglect the canoe races.
